Introduction

Bank of China and China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. (CSA) co-launched Bank of China-China Southern Sky Pearl Credit Card, an aviation co-branded card under the international standards. Besides basic functions and services of a standard Bank of China Credit Card, the card also offers various value-added services, including air mileage reward and exclusive travel insurance.

Functions

As a dual-currency credit card under the international standards, Bank of China-China Southern Sky Pearl Credit Card offers the basic functions and services of a standard Bank of China Credit Card, including payment after consumption, minimum payment amount and other revolving credit functions as well as cash advance, installment, global merchant discounts, reward points and so on, fully satisfying customer need for consumption and wealth management. In addition, the card offers multiple measures including SMS reminder, optional password verified card payment and zero risk loss report to ensure card safety and a pleasant travel.

Features

1. Two-in-one card

Filling out a single application form is all customers need to do to complete the application procedure to become a customer of Bank of China Credit Card as well as a member of China Southern Sky Pearl Club so as to enjoy the dual privileges offered by Bank of China and China Southern Airlines:  membership privileges and air mileage at China Southern Airlines or its partner merchants, and discounts and services at over 8,000 appointed partners of Bank of China across the country.

2. Air mileage accumulation

Customers can accumulate Bank of China reward points by consumption or withdrawal with the co-branded credit card. The points are automatically converted into China Southern Airlines air mileage on the statement date each month. Each 14 points are equal to one kilometer mileage and any odd points remaining (less than 14 points) will be carried forward to the subsequent statement circle. The more customers consume, the more air mileage they get.

3. Double mileage reward

Apart from the above points to mileage privilege from Bank of China, consumption with this card at China Southern Airlines and its appointed partners will also earn extra mileages reward. In other words, customers can accumulate double bonus mileages upon each consumption. The merchants participating in the double mileage reward include:

Airlines: China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., Sichuan Airlines Co., Ltd., China Airlines Co., Ltd. and member airlines of SkyTeam Alliance (including Aeroflot Russian Airlines, Mexicana Airlines, Air France, Alitalia Italian Airlines, Continental Airlines, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Korean Air and Northwest Airlines.

? Hotels: Best Western International, Inc., Intercontinental Hotels Group, Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, 7 Days Inn Group, Accor Hotels and Marriott International, Inc.

When the accumulated China Southern Airlines mileages reach 10,000 kilometers for the first time, customers can apply, for themselves or friends, for China Southern Airlines reward air ticket, class upgrade or the reward air ticket of any of the member airlines of SkyTeam Alliance.

4. Large sum of flight insurance

Safety is the top consideration for frequent travelers. Customers of Bank of China-China Southern Sky Pearl Credit Card can enjoy comprehensive and considerate insurance services.

Customers can be covered by a large sum of travel insurances such as flight accident compensation, flight delay compensation and luggage loss compensation just by purchasing air tickets or paying over 80% of tourist group expenses with the card.

? Flight accident compensation

During the process of boarding, taxing, flying and landing, namely, the insured period, in case customers suffer from death or disability caused by aircraft accidents, the insurance company will pay the death insurance amount as prescribed in the insurance clauses, or the disability insurance amount based on the level of disability.

? Flight delay compensation

In an occurrence of the following events covered under the policy, events when the insured customer is on a passenger flight with a valid flight ticket, the insurer will make compensation to the insured customer.

(1) Insured customer's booked flight has been cancelled by the carrier, and yet no arrangement has been made for an alternate flight within four hours of the original scheduled departure time.

(2) Insured customer's booked flight fails to take off within four hours after the scheduled departure time and no alternate flight has been arranged.

(3) The insured customer misses the booked connecting flight due to flight delay, and hasn’t been arranged an alternate flight within four hours after his/her arrival at the transfer airport.

? Luggage loss insurance

During the insurance period, if the insured customer's check-in luggage gets damaged or lost due to incidents such as fire, explosion, flight accidents, theft or loss, the insured customer will be financially compensated by the insurer.

Target Customers

Chinese citizens aged 18 or older with full capacity for civil conduct and stable legitimate income, foreigners with Residence Permit in China and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, can apply for Bank of China-China Southern Sky Pearl Credit Card at the local branch.

Procedure

The following documents are required for card application:

1. Identity documents: Bank of China accepts the principal card applicants aged between 18 and 65 and supplementary card applicants aged 16 or older
For domestic residents: a copy of valid ID card or interim ID card (both sides), or military ID card.

For foreign nationals:① Valid passport;② Copy of Residence Permit for Foreigners, or copy of Residence Permit for Foreigner attached to the visa page in the passport or copy of Permanent Residence Permit for Foreigners;

For citizens from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan: a copy of Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macau Residents, Hong Kong and Macau Compatriot Home-visiting Permit or Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents.

2. Evidence of permanent residence: (Any of the items below)

Copy of Hukou card (book);

The water, electricity and gas payment voucher of the latest three periods;

The fixed-line telephone payment voucher of the latest three periods;

Dormitory evidence issued by the employer;

House Lease Contract (Agreement);

Self-owned property certificate;

Payment voucher for residential property management fee;

Residence certificate issued by the community office;

Credit card statements for the latest two months or the individual income tax payment certificate for the latest three months;

Other supporting documents which can testify to the permanent residential address.

3. Financial status documents (Any of the items below):

Regular payroll or income proof of the latest three months issued by governmental institutions or enterprises (company seal or department seal required);

Copy of passbook/statement for agency salary payment issued by the agent bank (with salary information of the latest three months);

Copy of individual income tax payment certificate for the latest three months;

Copy of withholding certificate for social security payment;

Copy of self-owned property certificate;

Copy of certificate/passbook of bank time deposit and current deposit;

Copy of purchase certificate for fund, T-bond and corporate bond (with the buyer's name, account number and account balance);

Copy of membership cards and the like, including: golf membership card, China Mobile/China Unicom VIP card, Air China platinum, gold and silver membership cards, China Southern Sky Pearl gold and silver membership cards, Eastern Mileages Club gold and silver membership cards and so on. (with cardholder name and validity of the card).
